That's the truth this whole thing started from. Not as a complaint - just as something we kept noticing.
People put off the things that actually move them. They make peace with lives that don't quite fit. They tell themselves it's not the right time, or they're not the right person.
Then once in a while you meet someone who didn't make that trade. Someone genuinely doing what they love, who got there through real choices and real work, and is actually fulfilled by it. Not a highlight reel. The real thing. And what you almost always think when you meet that person is: I could do that too. I just haven't.
Do What You Love.™ exists to put more of those people in front of more of us.
Our mission is to ignite the fire within every person to live with purpose, to take action, and to unapologetically do what they love - inspiring others to do the same, and showing them how.
FILM FOCUSED
The stories we tell are our product. Apparel and merchandise funds the films.
Stories are chosen on merit, not on what will sell hats. A film subject is a film subject because the story is true and the person is genuinely living it.
The films come first, and never stop. When budgets tighten, the apparel scales back before the storytelling does. The content is the asset.
We don't bend stories for advertisers. No sponsor gets to shape the editorial.
We don't shout. The brand is documentary, not motivational. We're not here to give you a pep talk. We're here to show you what doing what you love actually looks like, and let you draw your own conclusions.

Matt Land and Jacob Lishen go way back to the 8th grade. Before Do What You Love.™ existed, they spent years building a successful media company together — learning their craft, finding their voices as storytellers, and discovering that what they cared about most was telling stories that actually move people.
Do What You Love.™ was born out of that shared passion.
Matt leads on creative and on-camera. Jacob leads on producing, partnerships, and growth. Both bring real creative instincts to every campaign. Both have their own stories of pursuit. Both are doing what they love.
But this isn't really about Matt and Jacob — or even just the people they point the camera at. It's about the mission, and making sure this message reaches anyone who needs it.
